Blondie is an American rock band, founded by lead singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. The band was a pioneer in the early American New Wave and punks scenes of the mid 1970s. Their first two albums contained strong elements of these genres however, became noted for its eclectic mix of musical styles incoporating elements of disco, pop, rap and reggae whilst retaining a basic style as a new wave band.

HEART OF GLASS......
This video is quite simplistic, simply focusing on the band performing. I noticed quite a lot of close up shots of the lead singer Debbie and individual meduim/long shots of the other members performing in the band. Although though this video seems simplsitic I think it is quite effective as it is creates a band persona and an intimate performance with the viewer and band. Thus meeting the Star's theory of NAME. What's more the lead singer Debbie is a very attractive woman therefore the use of the red lipstick and pan out of the singer creates a slight hint of sexual voyerism for the audience. The genre suits very well as it is a rock band therefore there is no bright vibrant pop effects like you would see in a video in a contemporary band/artist such as Lady Gaga- the only effects are the stage lighting as they are performing, this creates realism as if they were actually performing- much like Kings of Leon video charmer. - this idea I will consider for my music video!
LP- very vintage! -Well I did some digging and stumbled upon Blondie- parallel lines LP!- love it!- I took some photographs as I think this is an excellent example of not only band image and persona but also is very individual and represents the album name as the back ground is "parallel lines!" I also like how Debbie (the lead singer) is the main focus of the band image- something to consider when doing the photoshoot for my digipak!
