Rejected shots

This shot was rejected due to the setting, I feel it is too "urban" and does not fit the indie genre or with the song itself.

Due to the change in band, my original rough cut shots of the band had to change as I had to keep continuity.

This shot was rejected as it was too dark, therefore the lip synching was too difficult to do as you could not see the singer's lips.

Effects on Imovie

For the music video I wanted to create several different effects to keep the video interesting whether it is to show passage of time or a fast paced to go with the beat of the music

Here is a transition used for a cross blur. This was very effective on my video as it complimented with the lyrics of them song. Furthermore I used the "old film grain" effect on the video to represent a distant memory of the couple. The transition effectively shows how the boyfriend is now gone and the memory is only a memory.

Here I sped up the video and then contrasted this with a slow motion of Tamara ripping now the photo, I thought this was effective as it showed anger and aggression and fitted well with the fast paced song.

Here I used a reverse transition to show the hands going back and forth to show separation between the love and the couple.

Digi pack ideas

Here are a few photo edits for my digi pack. I created the edits in Picaso Editor. I prefer the use of monochrome against the red font as it proves effective and stands. The main focus of the piece is the title of the band as it is a logo, I wanted to focus on the band for the advertisement and artwork of the digi pack therefore the logo I plan to be in the title.

What's more this reflects the music video I have created, the focus on the band and the narrative, especially the singer Tammii.

The above is a initial idea for my magazine advertisement. It portrays the band is a relaxed atmosphere presenting the band as a close group. What's more some of the band are holding their instruments showing the audience what role they play in the band, additionally each member has a different pose, showing individuality in the band and a variety of personality, thus showing in their music.

Here is experimentation for my cd cover, using the Picaso editor I enhanced the tones of light and dark to create a night time effect. What's more the mains singer Tamara is situated in the middle of the band as the narrative of the song is about her. What's more I experimented with the title font of REDMANRED, using a bold plain font, contrasting the dark background.

Day of filming! (Setting up)

Well today I should be filming the final shots of my music video (hurrah!) However, this morning looks pretty dull..perhaps this will be a good effect on music video- (bit of mystery)? Lets hope so!!

Refilming Pre Production Details...

So as I have limited time to shoot (before it gets too dark outside!)- organisation is in order.

4.00 p.m - Tamara singing song all the way through- plenty of close ups and angles for her.
4.20 p.m - Whole band playing the song twice round so it will enable me to get plenty of shots.
4.45 p.m - Break!
5.00 p.m- Solo parts

-Murphy- drums different angles- foot pedal etc

-Kris- Guitar rythm.

-Joe - Guitar solo

Props..thinking of for video

Microphone stand..

Well looking at my rough cut I have decided that a microphone stand would be appropriate for refilming as this would make it more realistic and have the perfomance realism.

Instruments of course...

Mentioned this but obviously these will include two guitars and a drum set.

Photographs..

In my animation I came up with an idea of a zoom or a pan or photographs to reflect the lyrics of the songs with photos of the lead singer and a past boyfriend along with words such as "love you" etc. This was inspired by Paramore videos - seemed to prove affective and reflected girl character..memories etc.

Location Ideas

On her bed.- reflects memories, photos scattered- inspiration from Paramore video.

Park bench- outside to create a variety of locations, again to reflect memories, linking to the song lyrics.

Swings reflects the lyrics using transitions. Also connotes childhood memories, fun times.

Bathroom- good lighting, perfect shot for over shoulder.

New Drummer!

Introducing... Murphy!!...

Charlie (the original drummer) will not be able to make the day of filming... so here is the new drummer of the band! -still same style of the indie rock etcetc.....

Right so after my feedback from the roughcut I have decided to re film therefore I gathered the band members together- get more organised!

- best to do outside in my garden - more light and nicer scenery.
Costumes-
-Tamara has black lace dress she will wear showing edgey indie singer
-Joe Kris and Murphy- ideas discusses - cardigans, jumpers checkered shirts..with skinny jeans- indie look- inspired by topman website- also they are very up to date with fashion anyway!
